Since 2012, British charcuterie brand Serious Pig has employed me to write all of their pack copy, press releases, website and social media copy. All of the copy has to project the brand’s wry, humorous and distinctly British tone of voice consistently across all media. According to industry magazine The Grocer, Serious Pig saw sales grow nearly 250% between May 2012 and May 2013.

Advertorial copywriting.

I have written extensive advertorial content for Shortlist and Stylist magazines, as well as content for their respective digital titles Mr Hyde and Emerald Street. The companies and brands I have written for include 20th Century Fox, Dr. Martens, Mango, Wilkinson Sword, Cartier, Body Shop and DKNY.

Wilkinson Sword

Advertorial copywriting.

I wrote four advertorials for Wilkinson Sword, published in Shortlist Magazine, driving awareness of their new Hydro 5 Groomer and their community of young, cool, bearded men ‘The Crossed Swords Style Society’. As well as promoting the key features and benefits of the new razor, the advertorials highlighted different aspects of hip London culture; the coolest bars and restaurants, the music scene, the latest grooming styles and tattoo parlours and required accurate research and a journalistic approach to ensure the content was newsworthy and relevant to the Shortlist readership.

I have responsibility for London Duck Tours Social Media presence, devising regular Twitter and Facebook updates raising awareness of events in London, as well as discounts and promotions offered by this unique sightseeing company. These updates have to not only remain in keeping with London Duck Tours’ tone of voice, but must be interesting, witty and valuable to their social media followers. I have also worked on poster campaigns aimed at London Duck Tours corporate market, devising headlines and accompanying body copy to advertise their different themed tours, the latest of which resulted in a 20% hike in online enquiries from corporate clients. www.http://www.londonducktours.co.uk

GRASS Hay Fever Study

SEO website copy, press ads, outdoor posters, tube car panels, leaflets.

A new medical research study into long-term hay fever treatments by Imperial College, London required copy for an integrated multi-media campaign designed to attract sufficient numbers of volunteers. This included a website, which clearly and accurately laid out the facts of the study, an outdoor campaign consisting of posters and tube car panels, plus information leaflets, all of which had to meet strict ethical guidelines. The campaign had incredible response levels which exceeded the client’s expectations and recruited nearly 3,000 participants for the study. www.hayfeverstudy.co.uk

Orange Wednesdays

Scriptwriting.

The 2 for 1 cinema ticket brand, from mobile phone company Orange, required scripts for online movie reviews which celebrated different aspects of that month’s big release. The scripts, which were performed by young stand-up comedians, had to be dynamic, enthusiastic and funny.

Success 2013

SEO Website copy, banner ads, social media copy, direct response ads.

Success 2013 was a business excellence event held at London’s ExCel featuring Dragons Den stars Hilary Devey and James Caan. I wrote the copy for the entire integrated campaign which included the landing page, online banners, social media updates on Facebook and Twitter and direct response press ads, which resulted in over 3000 people attending the event.

Liaising with expert leadership coach Darren Robson, I developed the appropriate tone of voice for his brand of leadership workshops and seminars aimed at HR professionals. I wrote all the search engine optimised website copy and landing page copy, as well as the copy for the subsequent email marketing campaign.
